Halloween: where does it come from and does it work in France?

A post slightly off the real estate news today just to clear our heads! Though, children coming to ring doorbells demanding candy is almost like a real estate agent coming to ask you for a mandate!

Originally, Halloween comes from Samhain, a Celtic festival marking the passage into the dark season. The tradition traveled with Irish people to the United States, where pumpkins, costumes, and "trick-or-treat" became popular... before making a comeback in Europe.

And in France?

Yes, it's catching on - especially with children, shopkeepers, and schools. It's not a national "must" like Christmas, but it's increasingly present: themed evenings, decorated storefronts, neighborhood candy hunts. In short, a great excuse to bring neighbors together and bring life to the town center.

At Alpaca Immobilier, we love anything that brings neighbors closer 😉. The perfect opportunity to guilt-free enjoy the delicious Halloween chocolates from Agathe Olivet Pâtisserie (yum).
A real estate project? We can meet up to discuss it over a nice hot chocolate!
